Remote Video Production
COVID-19 brought a halt to production, but I found a solution that kept us rolling.
In 2020, I became a Senior Videographer at Methods+Mastery, a digital agency supporting Google brands such as Android, Chrome, and Area 120. Little did I know that my tenure would coincide with a global challenge—the COVID-19 pandemic—that would reshape the landscape of our industry.
As the pandemic forced a paradigm shift in production dynamics, I was tasked with a monumental responsibility: transitioning our entire production operation to remote filming, the new industry norm. Within one month, I engineered a cutting-edge remote filming rig that surpassed the quality benchmarks set by prevalent solutions like Zoom recordings.
Central to the success of this endeavor was my ability to seamlessly orchestrate the logistics of deploying these remote filming rigs to our teams across the globe. Through meticulous planning and coordination, I ensured our collaborators received the rigs promptly, with clear instructions on setup procedures. This streamlined approach minimized disruptions and enabled us to focus on the creative process rather than logistical hurdles.
However, the true innovation lay in the integration of remote access software that allowed me to assume control of the filming process from a distance. By adeptly leveraging these tools, I could remotely manipulate camera settings, ensure optimal framing, and even share live feeds with our internal team and Google clients. This real-time collaboration fostered a sense of continuity and professionalism, despite the physical distance separating us.
In essence, my tenure at Methods+Mastery epitomized the spirit of adaptability and innovation in the face of adversity. Through relentless determination and ingenuity, I not only overcame the challenges posed by the pandemic but also propelled our production capabilities to new heights. As the world sheltered at home, we continued creating compelling content that resonated with audiences worldwide, reaffirming the power of creativity and collaboration in times of uncertainty.

Android 11 Beta
Producer – Cinematographer
During the remote production phase, our team was assigned the responsibility of crafting content to coincide with the debut of Android 11 Beta. I initiated the production process by capturing social media content within the confines of my 830-square-foot residence. Subsequently, our social media content garnered thousands of views, impressing both our Google and Android clients with its design and imagery. Consequently, they requested a frame from our content to feature prominently on the beta announcement page. This development marked a significant milestone for both our agency and myself, as our creative endeavor attained recognition at higher echelons within Google, earning a place in the official announcement on the Google press release.
